The upcoming Midterm Elections (in just 5 weeks!) will play a critical role in determining the path of our nation.  Together as servant leaders of prayer ministries from coast-to-coast and cities/regions throughout these United States, let us unite our hearts and prayers as ONE, vote for godly candidates, AND urge the Body of Christ to do the same.  Together in Christ, we will be His CATALYSTS for our Father's destiny for America!

The upcoming national election will be a crucial one for the USA. Please pray for a strong turnout of  Christians, many of whom have not tended to vote in past elections. Pray  that this time they will take the initiative to get informed and show up to vote their values so that honest, good candidates will be put into power and the agenda of the evil one and wicked people will be exposed and overthrown.

FLOODS
In 2010 Pakistan recorded the worst flood on record, with over half of the country covered in water.   The UN said, "more people were affected than the combined total of 3 other major catastrophes - 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, 2005
Pakistan earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake."

Punjab the largest province (meaning land of the 5 rivers) where the most people live is experiencing even more devastating floods than in 2010.  So far over 1.8 million people have been affected; 700+ villages have been wiped away; 10,000's of livestock have been lost; the military has evacuated 4,000+ people by helicopter and boat; and over 4,000 people are still marooned. Roads and infrastructure are being washed away; food and drinking water are needed.  Many are living on dikes and are being asked to leave as these dikes are being blown up to divert floods away from major cities. The monsoon rains are still continuing as the floods move south carrying destruction in their path.

PRAY
For people who have lost everything.
For aid to reach these people. (The Taliban and Al Qaida are the ones
giving the most aid. Last time they did this to further their cause and get people to join them.)
May Christians be able to mobilize help.
May people see that Christ is the true savior and the one who loves them. May they realize that their god is not a god of help but one of destruction and death. May Pirs and demonic places be wiped out in the wake of the flood.

DEMONSTRATIONS.
Demonstrations are still continuing by the same two parties demanding that the government be overthrown.  Last week they were even saying the government of Musharraf was much better. (In the last 40 years more progress was made during his time than any other government.)
PRAY for a righteous and just government.

TERRORISM
The Pakistan military has been bombing and carrying out heavy raids against the Taliban along the Afghanistan border.   A group called the "Punjab Taliban" has broken away from the TT and said they are "ending their armed struggle within Pakistan."  PRAY this may continue.  The Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP - a very ruthless group) are having internal struggles with groups like the above breaking away, and fights over leadership. A new leader has just been named.

Thank you for your intercession

The movement is world wide.  We believe that God is asking the body to engage in prayer for life and He has given us a new strategy to get the Evangelicals (this would include but is not limited to the following denominations: Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, United, Anglican, Hutterite, Mennonite, Vineyard, Charismatic, etc.)  fired up to pray for life.   Below is a brief overview of the strategy as well as the information for the upcoming Breath of Life Global Day of Prayer...

---------------------------
Breath of Life is a worldwide prayer movement that is non-confrontational in nature and filled with God's love, mercy & compassion for all those involved in abortions including the medical staff and the unborn child's family.  Our goal is to pray for the closure of abortion clinics and for lives to be saved.  We will be launching Breath of Life later this summer/early fall in Canada and are hoping to launch in Mexico, USA & England later this year.

Approximate annual abortion rates:

Worldwide 45 million abortions per year- 25.6% or 1 in 4 pregnancies end in abortion
Canada 93,755 abortions per year- 19.9% or 1 in 5 pregnancies end in abortion
USA 1.06 million abortions per year- 19.5% or 1 in 5 pregnancies end in abortion
Mexico 1 million abortions per year- 28.6% or 1 in 4 pregnancies end in abortion
England & Wales combined 185,331 abortions per year- 20.8% or 1 in 5 pregnancies end in abortion

We believe that God desires to have a praying presence outside all abortion clinics worldwide, seven days a week, circling it in prayer just as He had Joshua circling the walls of Jericho in prayer until those walls fell down.

We are inviting churches to "adopt" one abortion clinic and its medical staff in prayer for one day each year until the abortion clinic closes.  We are looking for a minimum commitment of two people from individual churches, prayer groups, cell groups, etc. who are willing to pray for 24 hours one day per year.  Part of the 24 hour prayer day would be spent at home or at church and the other part praying outside the abortion clinic.  Breath of Life prayer teams are also invited to join together to pray outside of their provincial Legislative Assemblies across the nation every year on October 22- that's it!  The strategy is beautifully simple and light.

We thank you for prayerfully considering passing on the vision.  To join the Breath of Life movement today, please visit www.breathoflifemovement.com.

Breath of Life Global Day of Prayer
Date: October 22
Time: (Your local time) 8:30am-5:00pm
Location: Your local governing body (state/provincial building)

We invite you to join the in the Breath of Life Global Day of Prayer. We will be praying for our governing rulers and the current status on LIFE. We ask that you remember that Breath of Life is non-confrontational in nature and filled with God's love, mercy & compassion for all those involved in abortions including the medical staff, the unborn child's family and governing bodies.

All you need to do is show up at your local governing provincial or state building and pray for any duration of time between your local hours of 8:30am-5:00pm- that's it!

We ask that you "Come As You Are". This means for this day- Please Leave All Signs, Banners, Noise Makers, etc. at Home.

We ask that you remember that many of us that will be out there praying have personally suffered loss due to abortions or have been deeply affected by abortion. We are there to LOVE and HONOR both friend and foe, lost and found- just as JESUS did when He came to save the world He so loves!

Our goal is to pray for the closure of abortion clinics and for lives to be saved. Jesus said that we are to pray that His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We believe this is the key to seeing the LIFE issue turn around.

REMEMBER LOVE CONQUERS & LOVE COVERS OVER A MULTITUDE OF SIN- Even abortion.

South of France hit by devastating floods

Around 60 towns in the south of France have been officially declared natural disaster sites following severe flooding caused by torrential downpours, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve announced on Tuesday. Flood waters inundated roads and highways, engulfing cars after the Lez river, which flows by the coastal city of Montpellier and burst its banks. More than 4,000 people across the rain-soaked region spent the night in emergency centres, schools, train stations or the airport, the local government said in a statement. According to the authorities, emergency workers were called out more than 1,200 times, backed by three helicopters. ‘We will put in place natural disaster measures for about 60 towns,’ Cazeneuve told local media, adding he would head to the flood-hit region later on Tuesday. Rains were expected to ease by Tuesday and meteorologists downgraded the maximum red alert to orange in the region.

Belgium begins largest 'terrorism' trial

Belgian prosecutors have begun the country's biggest-ever terrorism trial, accusing 46 men of being members of a terrorist organisation that indoctrinated young men to fight in Syria. Nine of those charged were present in court in Antwerp on Monday, including the alleged ringleader Fouad Belkacem. The others were allegedly still in Syria, with many possibly dead in the fighting there. Prosecutors said the accused belonged to Sharia4Belgium, a group disbanded two years ago, which prosecutors say was led by the 32-year-old Belkacem. The court heard that members approached young men and a few teenage women in Antwerp and Vilvoorde, north of Brussels, to invite them to their centre in Antwerp where they were indoctrinated and readied for their trip to Syria. ‘The clear aim was to prepare them for armed combat,’  Luc Festraets, a prosecutor, told the court.

Algeria: God builds his church

‘It is impossible to comprehend what is happening in Algeria apart from a mighty move of the Holy Spirit and years of patient intercession and sowing of the Word,’ reports Greg Kernaghan of OM International who visited the country to report how Christians in this nation are faring. ‘People from all walks of life are coming to Christ in numbers that church leaders cannot keep pace with. Conversions and miracles are testified and there is an enormous hunger to be trained and discipled. Believers have been set free from fear and their zeal and compassion is felt across the land. The growth of the Algerian church in the past decade - encircled by Muslim unrest and antagonism toward Christians in North Africa - is truly miraculous. There are at least 75,000 believers in Algeria today and their number is growing.’ Kernaghan reports.

Prayer vigils in churches throughout the city are being held for those involved in the pro-democracy demonstrations gripping Hong Kong. Congregations are upholding Hong Kong in prayer as the protests are into their third day. (see world article 3). Among the leaders of the movement, under the banner 'Occupy Central with Love and Peace', are former Catholic Bishop of Hong Kong Cardinal Joseph Zen Ze-kiun and Baptist minister Rev Chu Yiu-ming. The Vine, an international church located a few blocks from the protests is open for 48 hours as a place of prayer, intercession, rest and refuge for those involved. Pastor Andrew Gardener said, ‘We're digging into prayer and worship over the next 24 hours which will be crucial, and on the practical side we're saying if you need rest, refuge, first aid, if you're hungry or thirsty come to us.’

Radical Islamist extremists and neo-Nazis could be banned from making public appearances, including on television, under a gagging order proposed by the Conservatives with echoes of the broadcast ban that once applied to the voice of Gerry Adams. Theresa May will announce the measure as part of a widely drawn counter-extremism strategy that is intended to catch so-called hate preachers such as Anjem Choudary, who was released on bail last week after being arrested on suspicion of encouraging terrorism. The home secretary’s new orders would be aimed at those who undertake activities ‘for the purpose of overthrowing democracy’, a wide-ranging definition that could also catch a far wider range of political activists. The ‘extremist asbos’ are reminiscent of the 1980s broadcasting ban under which Sinn Féin spokesmen such as Adams were banned from the airwaves. Actors were used to voice the words of republicans and others with links to paramilitary groups in news reports
