Pastor Khalid Mezher, leader of the Good Shepherd Evangelical Church in Suwayda, Syria, was murdered alongside around 20 members of his extended family in what church leaders are calling a targeted massacre. A convert from the Druze faith, Mezher was known for his bold Christian witness in a region torn by conflict. His murder occurred amid escalating violence between Bedouin fighters and Druze militias, with over 250 reported dead in one week. Suwayda has been under siege for 10 days with no food, water, or electricity. Church sources say Mezher was 'killed for his faith,' and many believers remain missing or cut off. Despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire, shelling continues. Christian leaders across Syria have condemned the killings and appealed for urgent international aid. Government forces have shifted roles in the conflict, but humanitarian access remains limited. Mezher’s martyrdom has shaken the remnant Christian community in southern Syria, as calls for global prayer and intervention grow. The church in Suwayda now stands scattered, its future uncertain. Japan’s prime minister, Shigeru Ishiba, is expected to resign following a major electoral defeat that saw his Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) lose its coalition majority in the upper house. Ishiba, who has held office for less than a year, has struggled with waning public support and the rise of nationalist parties like Sanseito, which campaigned on a 'Japanese first' platform. The LDP has faced increasing pressure over issues such as inflation, a shrinking workforce, and growing immigration concerns - areas populist groups have capitalised on. Despite initially pledging to remain in office, Ishiba is now consulting former prime ministers about his future. He is also pursuing a controversial $550 billion trade deal with the United States that would lower tariffs on Japanese goods in exchange for greater U.S. market access. While the proposed deal has economic significance, Ishiba’s political fate appears sealed. Observers warn that the shifting political landscape could steer Japan towards more nationalist policies if moderate leadership continues to weaken. see

Brazil’s supreme court has ordered strict sanctions on former president Jair Bolsonaro amid an ongoing criminal trial accusing him of plotting to overturn the 2022 election. Police raided his home and headquarters, fitted him with an electronic ankle tag, and imposed bans on foreign contacts, embassies, and social media use. The court cited flight risk concerns, though Bolsonaro denied any intention to flee, calling the measures a 'supreme humiliation.' The USA has reacted controversially, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoking visas for Brazilian justices involved, labelling the trial a 'political witch hunt.' Bolsonaro’s close ties with Donald Trump and claims of US interference have sparked a diplomatic storm. Allegations include collusion with the USA to impose retaliatory trade tariffs. Meanwhile, he could face over 40 years in prison if convicted of orchestrating a coup, with charges also implicating his son. As tensions rise, the situation highlights deepening global political entanglements and ongoing challenges to democratic accountability in Brazil.

Sudan’s war has entered a dangerous new phase, with fierce fighting erupting in the oil-rich Kordofan region. Control of Kordofan is strategic - it holds vital oil infrastructure and could shift the war’s trajectory. The army, led by Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, is attempting to push out the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), commanded by Gen Mohamed 'Hemedti' Dagalo, who once supported al-Burhan before a violent split in 2023. Airstrikes by the army have killed dozens of civilians in towns like el-Fula and Abu Zabad, drawing condemnation from the UN. Meanwhile, the RSF has also been accused of massacres, with over 450 civilians, including children, killed in recent attacks. The conflict, now in its third year, has displaced 12 million and claimed 150,000 lives. Analysts warn the RSF's local tribal support could give them the upper hand in parts of Kordofan. Both sides are now locked in a deadly struggle over the region’s towns, oil fields, and supply routes. Humanitarian agencies are calling for urgent international action to stop the bloodshed.

Algeria’s president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has offered to mediate between Mali’s military-led government and northern rebel groups, including Tuareg and Arab nationalists, amid escalating regional tensions. However, he clarified that he would only step in if formally invited by Mali. His statement comes after Mali's junta withdrew from a previous Algeria-brokered peace deal and replaced UN peacekeepers with Russian Africa Corps mercenaries, formerly Wagner. Algeria has refused to tolerate mercenary forces on its 1,400 km shared border, despite its own longstanding ties with Russia. Mutual accusations have intensified, with both countries alleging drone strikes and cross-border incursions. Mali has accused Algeria of harbouring militants who conduct attacks from Algerian soil, a claim Algiers denies. The withdrawal of the UN’s MINUSMA peacekeeping force in 2023 has left a security vacuum in northern Mali, now filled by armed factions and foreign operatives. Tebboune’s call for diplomacy reflects Algeria’s concern over instability and the threat of wider conflict spreading across the Sahel region.

50 Days of Prayer for Oneness and Reconciliation

“FATHER, MAKE THEM ONE” – John 17

The time is right for the Church to take the lead and assist our countries to heal. As Christians we owe the world a testimony. Let us move from fear, hatred and distrust to rebuilding the ruined walls, as in Nehemiah’s time, helping each other to overcome the past and walking in faith, believing that the King of Kings is still empowering us. Let us celebrate our shared identity in Christ.

We cannot change, transform or heal ourselves. Only the Triune God can do that. But then we need to spend time with Him and allow Him to speak to us.

In light of the need for healing and reconciliation and for our hearts to be prepared, this 50 Days of Prayer was initiated.

The 50 Days will start on 16 June and end on 4 August 2024.

Please join in this process of humbling ourselves before God so that God Himself can heal and reconcile us with Him and with one another.

Join the 24-7 Prayer for Revival – Raising a Godly Generation!

Jericho Walls International Prayer Network invites believers worldwide to unite in an extraordinary week of 24-7 prayer from 14th to 20th July 2025. Under the stirring theme “Shooting Arrows” (Psalm 127:4), this year’s focus is on raising a godly generation of young people aged 10 to 21. In a world where moral relativism clouds truth and biblical values are increasingly dismissed as optional, we as the Body of Christ are called to stand in the gap for the next generation.

This beautifully crafted prayer guide offers daily prayer themes—from resisting moral compromise, to embracing God’s absolute truth, to discovering personal purpose and calling. It draws powerful lessons from biblical heroes like Daniel, Timothy, Joseph, and ultimately Jesus Himself. Each day provides Scripture-based prayers both for and with young people, making this a perfect tool for families, churches, youth groups, and intercessors.

Our youth face countless pressures and confusing messages. Yet God’s Word promises that when we pray, He hears and answers. Imagine the impact of believers all around the world lifting up this generation in united, ceaseless prayer!

Don’t miss the chance to be part of this Kingdom effort. Download the guide, gather your family, your church, or your prayer group, and take time each day to pray over the highlighted themes. Let’s believe God for a revival that will shape young hearts to walk worthy of the Lord, be fruitful in every good work, and increase in the knowledge of God (Colossians 1:10).

Join us as watchmen on the walls. Let’s shoot arrows of faith, truth, and intercession into the heart of the next generation—for God’s glory and the fulfilment of His purposes on the earth!

Snapshot from the IPC Regions…

It has been encouraging to meet local, regional and international leaders over the last few months in Asia and Europe! I am amazed as I observe a growing momentum of partnership in Bible-based prayer across the movements – all for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

July 2025 001bThe Asia Prayer Summit, in Batam, Indonesia, in April, led by Daniel and Estell Brink drew together hundreds of leaders of Houses of Prayer across the region. The fruit of that gathering was a collective pledge to plant 40 new 24-7 Prayer Watches – Hallelujah!  Their next Eurasia Summit is 13-15 October in Malta.

Several of our IPC leaders took part in the Global Leaders Summit in Fiuggi, Italy in May, where a joint prayer initiative with Global 33 (Director - Henry Cappello) was launched with the vision to mobilise 133 million Missionary Disciples across the Catholic Church by 2033.  This was followed by the G33 Women of Influence Summit (WINS) led by Sabina Cappello.

July 2025 001cE21 - 7,000+ believers from 100+ nations took part in the Empowered 21 Pentecostal World Conference in Helsinki, Finland, at the beginning of June with inspiring teaching from Billy Wilson, Christine Caine and Rick Warren.  As well as leading a prayer-focused breakout group, we hosted a 2-hour Pentecost Global Day of Prayer livestream in tandem with Brian Alarid (Director of World Prays), who was located in Spain.  It was a powerful time of worship and prayer for revival across the Jewish world with stirring and inspiring teaching from Rick Warren. (See Editorial 2)  Thank you to the many prayer leaders who took part! See the 40 minute excerpts video

Many believers joined in the recently launched Global Day of Prayer for revival across the Catholic Church on Sunday 29th June.  It is wonderful to see this fresh wave of worship and prayers for renewal among our evangelical Catholic brothers and sisters, who share the vision to reach every nation by 2033! July 2025 001dWe are into the final week of 30 Days of Prayer for the Church in Israel & Iran (Psalm 122:6) Do join us as we stand with real-life believers facing trials & triumphs across the Middle East.

Our 4 Global Days of Prayer continue to attract offline and online support, engaging 100 million+ believers each time, for which I continue to be astounded and grateful! The Buddhist, Muslim and Jewish World focused days of prayer have taken place. We are looking forward to the Day of Prayer for the Hindu World in October! – See below…

The Global Family 24-7 Prayer Room continues its rhythm of continuous online prayer – around the throne, around the clock, around the globe!
